Contract to Full Time Work Registration - Historical Vessel Manager

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Vessel maintenance, preservation, and repair planning aligned with maritime standards
• Task prioritization: direct and coordinate staff, contractors and volunteers
• Manage department budget and priorities of work
• Own industrial safety practices, compliance, and regulated materials requirements
• Partner with CEO to support public engagement and revenue goals
• Occasional evening/weekend coverage as operations require

Requirements

Must have prior U.S. military service to register with Veterans Launch and be considered through our service. The requirements and physical demands listed below have been communicated by our client for contract/consulting assignment or full time employment with them for this specific opportunity.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience. Preferred area of study: business administration/management, engineering, museum studies, naval and/or maritime history

• Equipment certificates are a plus. Forklift, CPR & ABS (Able Body Seaman Card) and ability to swim

• Proven leadership, scheduling, and team coordination experience
• 3-5+ years in ship repair/maintenance, marine operations, or historic vessel programs
• Clear communication, strong judgement, and a safety-first mindset
• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
