Director's Office Analyst
Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), and with guidance received from the Director and/or Chief Deputy Director, the Office of the Director Analyst performs a variety of analytical and administrative duties relating to the program needs of the Office. This role provides the highest level of administrative support and staff assistance on a variety of complex, sensitive and confidential department issues. With a delegated high degree of responsibility for making recommendations to the Executive Staff, this role is involved in broad areas of policy formulation or complex administrative action, as well as taking responsibility for affecting these recommendations. The highly valued role performs office management tasks requiring a high degree of initiative, independence and analytical skill in addition to coordinating workflow, monitoring issue resolutions, and tracking project assignments.

Working Conditions
The DMHC has locations in Downtown Sacramento and Rancho Cordova. Both locations are located close to light-rail with various amenities. The incumbent will work in a climate-controlled cubicle and/or office environment with artificial lighting.
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework. The telework schedule is permitted at the operational needs of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with the State Telework Policy and the DMHC’s Telework Policy. All employees who telework are required to be California residents and maintain California residency in accordance with Government Code 14200.
Special Requirements
- The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
All applicants not currently employed by the DMHC will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation. The investigation will consist of fingerprinting and an inquiry to the California Department of Justice to disclose criminal records.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience working with high level internal/external management.
- Experience handling correspondences, travel arrangements, responding to calls or inquiries, and/or maintaining filing/tracking system.
- Experience analyzing data, and/or presenting ideas and information effectively in either a small or large group setting.
- Experience composing documents or correspondences, and/or revising and editing own work and/or the work of others.
- Experience planning and/or organizing a project or meeting.
- Experience working with different audiences.
