In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. Working Conditions
- This position is located in the Riverpoint Marketplace area of West Sacramento (10 minutes from downtown), near the IKEA. Our building offers a free parking lot to employees and is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops.
- This position is eligib le for a hybrid telework option, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
- Will be required work at remote facilities or incidents to affect repairs onsite, which can involve overnight travel. Hardware repair requires occasional lifting of PC’s and printers which should not exceed 40 pounds.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- BA Degree in Business Management, Project Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related
- Master’s Degree helpful but not necessary
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or 3+ years of IT Project Manager Experience
- Supervisory or management experience
- Agile/Scrum Master Certification or Experience as a Scrum Master in more than 5 midlarge projects
- CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, Excel, etc.)
- Proficiency with Project Portfolio Management Software
- Experience in Procurement and Contract management
- California Department of Technology process familiarity
- IT Account Management Experience
- Complete and full understanding of an IT project life cycle
- Expertise in Project Resource Management
- Project escalation best practices and triggers
- Proficient in leading via Microsoft Teams environment

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE
Supplemental Questionnaire
Limited to 3 pages in Garamond font, specifics are important.
1) How do you handle situations where senior stakeholders have conflicting priorities or request unrealistic changes to a project scope? What actions would you take?
2) Explain the fundamental difference between project risk and an issue, and provide an example of how you proactively mitigated a high-impact risk in a past role.
3) Describe your experience working with contracts and managing project budgets
