Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II (SSMII), the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) (SSMI) serves as a program expert and liaison between the Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB), County Agricultural Commissioners (CACs), Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR), licensees, and other stakeholders. The incumbent performs high-level analytical work; develops and evaluates policies, procedures, and training content; and serves as a subject matter expert on county enforcement and regulatory standard. The incumbent independently represents the SPCB in various forums and is responsible for coordinating stakeholder engagement, supporting policy initiative, and providing program guidance to internal and external partners.

Special Requirements
Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is subject to the requirements of California Code of Regulations, title 16, section 3830, the DCA Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.

The incumbent must be self-motivated, conscientious, and dependable. The incumbent should have the ability to quickly acquire technical knowledge and think critically.
