Job details:
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) $$SN$$
Location: Bakersfield, California
Shift: Nights – 3x12s / 4x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Duration: 13 weeks

Job Duties
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients in the L&D unit.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, ensuring timely interventions.
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency obstetric procedures.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per protocol.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, recovery, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide critical care support as needed.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of California) required
• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification required
• NRP or NALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Recent specialty experience within the last 3 months required

• Experience in high-acuity L&D settings (preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills required
• Ability to work flexible 36/48-hour schedules required
