Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with a growing company in Escondido, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience who enjoys accurate, detail-driven work in a fast-paced business environment.

The Accounting Specialist will support day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, payment processing, purchase orders, reconciliations, collections, and financial recordkeeping. Key Responsibilities

- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and collections.
- Process customer purchase orders from receipt through shipping documentation and order fulfillment support.
- Prepare, process, and distribute customer invoices while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Post incoming payments, prepare bank deposits, and research payment discrepancies.
- Assist with multi-state sales tax reporting and basic payroll-related accounting tasks.
- Provide administrative and accounting support to internal Accounting, Sales, and Service teams in a paperless environment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Benefits include 401(k), health insurance, paid time off, and parental leave.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- 5+ years of recent experience in an Accounting Clerk, Accounting Specialist, AP/AR, or similar role.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or another ERP system is required.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, payment posting, and purchase order processing.
- Working knowledge of payroll and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Stable work history is strongly preferred.
- Experience with multi-state sales tax reporting is a plus.
