Job Description and Duties
This is a 12-month limited-term position that may be extended to 24 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.

This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. Working Conditions
- This position is eligible for a hybrid telework option, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Experience with budgets, invoices, grants and/or contracts
- Strong PC and application experience in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and other internet platforms
- Experience working with executive level staff and all levels of internal and external staff
- Highly organized with a strong ability to work independently and handle complex tasks and competing deadlines
- Quantitative experience – database and/or data analysis skills, creating spreadsheets, using formulas.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) Instructions

Statement of Qualifications Guidelines
When preparing your Statement of Qualifications, please follow these guidelines:
• The information you provide must be complete and presented in a clear and concise manner.
• Your Statement of Qualifications must be typewritten using Arial 12-point font with 1” margins.
• Limit your response to no more than two (2) typewritten page, single-sided.
1. Summarize your experience managing grants, contracts, or program budgets, including how you tracked spending and available program funding, monitored compliance, prepared reports, and the types of funding you supported. Please also describe the systems or processes you used and your specific responsibilities.
2. Briefly describe your experience reviewing financial or administrative documents for accuracy, compliance with requirements, appropriateness of costs or activities, and proper documentation for audit or record keeping purposes.
3. Describe your experience using professional software or systems such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, grant management software, database management systems, or email scheduling/collaboration platforms (e.g., Outlook, Teams). Include any advanced or specialized functions you have performed.
