Microscope Assembly Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Microscope Assembly Technician, where you will be responsible for the manual assembly and manufacturing of pipettes. This role involves precise work under a microscope, contributing to the production of high-quality pipettes.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble pipettes using manual processes.
• Operate under a microscope to ensure precision in assembly.
• Load glass pieces into heat packaging for microscope-assisted assembly.
• Operate foot pedal to transfer heat and shape the pipette tip.
• Participate in cross-training within the automated manufacturing department.
• Meet daily output and yield requirements.
• Maintain a commitment to continuous improvement and skill development.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using a microscope for extended periods.
• Experience in production, inspection, and assembly processes.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment adhering to strict gowning procedures.
• Excellent hand dexterity and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with packaging and inventory management.
• Ability to measure and ensure accuracy of small components under a microscope.
• Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance during initial training.

Work Environment

Work in a cleanroom environment with a team on the 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Follow all gowning procedures, including wearing a hair net and washing hands thoroughly. Dress code includes long pants and close-toed shoes. Enjoy adjustable desks and suggestions for ergonomic comfort, along with encouraged breaks to rest eyes and stretch.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
