Are you looking to join the team building the backbone of AI?

CrimsonXT has partnered with an AI Cloud Platform company, which, due to growth, is looking to hire a variety of positions across the data centre space. We are seeking a Principal Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join the team, ideally based on the West Coast or the Central time zone.

Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will have the opportunity to own the data centre power system design from the utility to the racks. You will define the power infrastructure that enables high-density GPU campuses and craft resilient topologies that deliver clean, rapid-response power while meeting stringent uptime, safety and efficiency targets. You will also:

  • Manage all aspects of the electrical engineering system for data centres
  • Create a strategy for data centre electrical system design and deployment
  • Develop electrical design standards for power distribution to high-density liquid-cooled and air-cooled racks, mechanical equipment and systems within data centres
  • Lead innovation for electrical engineering systems
  • Develop and maintain the basis of design, master specification and master drawings
  • Facilitate developing project-specific drawings and documentation
  • Develop one-line diagrams for MV/HV utility feeds, substations, generator farms and UPS topologies (2N, N+1)
  • Lead power-quality studies for GPU workloads
  • Author sequence-of-operations, FAT/SAT protocols and energisation plans
  • Produce electrical bill-of-materials, sequence-of-operations and commissioning scripts
  • Interface with Mechanical Controls and Construction teams
  • Willing and able to travel (domestic and international) to support projects (20% travel is expected for this role)

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a B.S/B.E./B. A degree in the electrical engineering discipline and at least 10 years of experience designing data centre and mission-critical electrical systems. You should also have:

  • Knowledge on AI / HPC data centres
  • Expert in NEC, IEC and IEEE standards; ETAP or SKM modelling proficiency
  • Familiar with liquid-cooled rack power delivery, blind-mate busbars and 48 VDC architectures
  • PE/Chartered Electrical Engineer strongly preferred

What’s in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, highly motivated team providing world-class supercomputing experience to its customers. You will be offered a competitive total compensation package (salary + equity), retirement or pension plan, health, dental, and vision insurance and a generous PTO policy.
