GSF Properties Inc. is looking to add an individual to join our dynamic property management team as a Bookkeeper in Fresno, CA!

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BOOKKEEPER:

  • Accounts Payable - prepares and processes invoices, check requests, manual checks, and weekly check disbursements; enters invoices into SAGE (accounting program) for assigned apartment complexes.
  • Ensures invoices are turned in with the proper approvals and notes.
  • Assigns general ledger account codes to invoices.
  • Accounts Receivable - enters rent and other deposits daily.
  • Posts journal entries as needed for reclassification's or corrections.
  • Maintains accurate records and complete documentation for all transactions.
  • Assists with month-end close, including: account reconciliation, review and reconcile bank statements, make any adjustments to the general ledger if applicable prepares financial statements and management reports for review, distributes financial and management reports after review by the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Reviews and processes Move-Out Statements for Refund or Billing.
  • Provides guidance regarding invoices and supplemental reports to resident managers and other personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions.
  • Assists with research projects.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Responsible to keep up with office related software for job development and productivity due to new technology.
  • Ensures communication is clear, precise, and professional through emails and notes.

Requirements

Job Requirements for Bookkeeper:

  • Bookkeeping: 2 years (Required)
  • Accounting experience: 1 year (Required)
  • Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Required)
  • Accounts payable: 1 year (Required)
  • Accounts receivable: 1 year (Required)
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
