We are currently seeking a professional, patient, and empathetic Back Office Medical Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will assist Physicians and clinical staff in the delivery of healthcare by performing a variety of medical and office-related tasks in both the Back and Front Office.
Core Job Duties (but not limited to):
- Prepare patients for office visits and procedures
- Obtain and document brief medical history and reason for visit in the patient’s chart
- Perform and accurately record vital signs
- Submit and follow up on medication prior authorizations with insurance companies
- Communicate authorization status with providers, pharmacies, and patients
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures as instructed
- Assist providers with injections as ordered
- Ensure patient demographic and insurance information is accurate
- Triage patient phone calls and communicate appropriately with clinical staff
Requirements:
- Strong written and communication skills
- Must have experience working in a Medical Assistant position or directly related field, and at least 1 year working in the Back office
- Proficiency with EMR system and excellent computer skills
- Is an effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and understanding of audience needs
- Bilingual (English required; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred)
- Experience in surgical setting preferred but willing to train
