Job Overview

This position leads, manages, and supervises Site Medical Directors in an assigned region or specialty care area(s), as well as provides comprehensive, coordinated, primary and preventive health care services to a diverse & underserved patient population across their lifespan. In performing this work, the Regional Medical Director ensures the execution of assuring access to high-quality, affordable, and caring health care for all. Ideally, this position would spend time on administrative duties and time on clinical duties. The Regional Medical Director actively participates in the various committees and meetings where Medical Leadership input is necessary and provides direct supervision of the assigned Medical Directors.

Minimum Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible physician, Primary Care specialties preferred.
• California License to practice medicine, and an unrestricted DEA License.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing multiple outpatient health clinic settings. Experience in a community health center setting working with underserved populations is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing quality improvement programs.
• Experience with managed care, administration of programs, and staff supervision, including staff at satellite clinics.
• Demonstrated experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Experience developing and leading medical quality improvement programs, preferably in a managed care setting.
• Previous experience with computer-based systems required; Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$348,247.42 - $417,896.90 annually

The range is subject to change. AltaMed is committed to ensuring a fair and competitive compensation package that reflects the candidate's value and the role's strategic importance within the organization.
