About the Role: New Product Development (NPD) Manager As the NPD Manager, you'll be responsible for launching and managing the company's product development initiatives, implementing a structured stage gate process, and driving innovation from concept to market launch. This is a hands-on role requiring strategic vision and cross-functional leadership. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, customer-centric products that align with market demands and business goals. Key Responsibilities: Establish and lead the New Product Development (NPD) program to drive strategic growth goals.
Define, implement, and improve a stage gate process that ensures speed-to-market while maintaining quality and viability.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the NPD process, including milestones and accountability checkpoints.
Identify and evaluate new product opportunities based on market research, customer feedback, and business strategy.
Lead cross-functional teams to execute product development projects within defined timelines and budgets.
Implement and manage the Voice of the Customer (VOC) program to ensure market needs and customer insights shape product innovation.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Marketing, and Sales teams to bring products to market efficiently.
Monitor the performance of new products post-launch, using KPIs like sales performance and time-to-market metrics.
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability and handed off efficiently. About You: To excel in this role, you'll bring a combination of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and leadership skills. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Product Design, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in product development, R&D, or a similar role, preferably in industrial, electrical, or manufacturing sectors.
Experience in electrical equipment manufacturing is a plus.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or related experience is highly desirable.
Proven expertise in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
Experience in defining and managing stage gate processes and VOC programs.
Familiarity with agile product development methodologies.
Proficiency in tools like SolidWorks, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
