Event Operations & Finance Specialist

IDR is seeking a Event Operations & Finance Specialist to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity in the software/technology space - this client is a global leader!

The role focuses on supporting the operational and financial aspects of large-scale events within a dynamic organization that intersects technology and storytelling. The specialist will manage budgets, generate data-driven narratives for executive presentation, and ensure seamless execution of various event-related activities. Position Overview for the Event Operations & Finance Specialist :

• Support the development and management of comprehensive event budgets aligning with organizational goals.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to facilitate procurement, expense reconciliation, and vendor management.
• Prepare financial reports, summaries, and presentations for management review.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within budgeting functions.

Requirements for the Event Operations & Finance Specialist :

• Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or procurement in an events-focused environment.
• Experience managing event budgets to ensure effective resource allocation for marketing initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially in creating and managing complex formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, IF statements).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving role.
