Our passionate team of animal advocates is growing! St. Catharines Animal Hospital is seeking a Managing Veterinarian to join our team. Nestled in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, our progressive clinic strives to ensure that every pet that comes through our doors is treated as if they were our own.
At SCAH, we have a state-of-the-art facility that is well equipped with a full in-house lab, digital x-ray, dental digital x-ray, ultrasound, advanced electro-cautery machine, 6 IV digital pumps, advanced anesthesia monitor, and a strong, supportive team of technicians and assistants. With a combined 20 years of experience amongst our veterinarians, we offer advanced surgical procedures, dentistry, robust diagnostic capabilities and more - all at an affordable cost to our loyal clientele!
In addition to an inclusive, caring, and collaborative working environment, we are offering a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $150,000–$160,000 based on experience, plus the potential for a production bonus, leadership bonuses, along with industry-leading benefits (Health/Dental), signing and retention bonuses, paid vacation, CE support, and more. Job Responsibilities
- Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
- Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
- Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the public.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Canada.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
