Business Analyst

Esri
Redlands, CA
Overview

Be part of a team that takes ArcGIS products to market. As a Business Analyst you will play a critical role in enabling Esri’s product organization to deliver high‑quality software and online services at scale. This role focuses on operational excellence, ensuring that products are effectively planned, prepared, and released through strong execution, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of processes and tools.

You will work with business management, finance, customer service, and other operational readiness teams across the organization to translate product and business requirements into reliable operational outcomes. Through hands‑on ownership of workflows, systems, and release activities, you will enable Esri to maintain consistency, accuracy, and scalability in how products are delivered to customers—supporting Esri’s mission to deliver trusted technology that drives real‑world impact.

Responsibilities
  • Independently prioritize and execute tasks and configure materials for assigned products/programs in Esri Internal Business Systems (SAP, Salesforce, and more) including creation of material numbers, bills of materials, sales builds, routings, and licenses
  • Plan and execute timely and accurate electronic delivery and release of software deliverables, including coordination of assignment to appropriate license features (via My Esri)
  • Use domain expertise and analytical skills to evaluate product operational requirements, plus information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, and distilling into use cases, user stories and detailed tasks for priority execution
  • Effectively and autonomously participate in concurrent product and program releases and provide reports that reflect download and/or license usage, exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Produce project artifacts including task documentation and percent completion, use cases, and business process modeling through workflows and data visuals related to software release activities
  • Own and influence processes and methods to execute tasks in SAP, Salesforce, and/or other business information systems
  • Understand internal business processes, undertake analysis, solve complex problems independently, and optimize existing approaches to resolve issues and enhance customer experience
  • Enhance relationships and networks with internal and external partners, including business management, product management, software release, customer service, and technical teams to provide guidance on release activities such as quality assurance, integration, and acceptance testing
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with SAP, an enterprise resource planning system, or comparable data management systems
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly scheduled environment
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Process-driven analysis skills and background in various requirement discovery methods
  • Demonstrated experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholders
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in business information systems, business administration, or related field
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
