Senior Accountant - Tax & Payroll

Empire Technological Group Limited dba Aruze Gaming Global is looking to add a Senior Accountant - Tax & Payroll to our team! Las Vegas Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local corporate tax requirements (income, payroll, gross receipts, sales & use, property, etc.).
• Prepare and file sales tax returns, work to fully implement automated filing within Avalara Avatax.
• Monitor tax laws, regulations and perform research on any inquiries/audits.
• Support tax provision and financial reporting processes with external advisors, including provision calculations and accounting method reviews.
• Provide tax related insights for budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and advise on potential implications of business decisions.
• Support international taxation activities, including transfer pricing studies, guidance for subsidiaries, and intercompany coordination.
• Payroll processing, accruals, and related controls.
• Calculate commissions and ensure accurate journal entries/accruals.
• Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations including cash, payroll, intercompany, debt, among others.
• Ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts and timely completion of all closing processes.
• Review financial data to ensure accurate and complete information for financial reporting purposes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and Company policies in financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
• Support SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance efforts, if applicable, by ensuring proper documentation of financial processes and controls.
• Research and interpret technical accounting guidance to support the treatment of complex transactions as delegated.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and changes in accounting policies.
• Participate in special projects such as system implementations, process improvements, account clean ups
• Work closely with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data and to support business initiatives.
• Provide insights and analysis to management on financial results and trends.
• Other duties as requested and/or assigned.

Skills / Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
• External audit experience with Big 4 or other national firms is highly desired.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment, preferably in a global company and/or in the gaming industry.
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience in Avalara Avatax and Datarails is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to interact with various departments and levels of management.
