Sign Designer
:
SUMMARY:
Construct from concept and creative input, computer-generated, or manually drawn sign designs for presentation to clients. Use of Macintosh or Windows technology in a creative manner to enhance design concepts and detailed technical drawings. Responsibilities include daily communication with supervisor to organize workload demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design signage for model home complexes, apartment complexes, hospitals, and commercial retail. Blade and wall signs, kiosks, project ID's, monuments, directional signs, directory cases and commercial signs.
Design above signage from client branding, client supplied artwork, verbal instructions from client or sales reps, etc.
Speak w/ production or supervisor to determine best methods of production for signage
Signs are created manually or by using Macintosh or Windows technology such as Adobe Illustrator(CAD Tools), Adobe Photoshop, and/or AutoCAD/ Solidworks. Use scanner, printers, color and laser copiers.
Mechanical aptitude; including reading working drawings, technical drawings, and various construction schedules.
Attend all department and company meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong Adobe Illustrator experience
Previous sign, exhibit, architecture, industrial/environmental design- related experience (Preferred)
Strong attention to detail, quick learner
Can work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining quality
Can take direction from verbal/written communication
Can communicate professionally with supervisor, sales reps, production managers, etc
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate good design skills and ability to utilize for the purpose of signage, this includes the correct use of type.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to use fractions to 1/16 of an inch
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
