Grinder
Description
?The Grinder is responsible for operating hand-held and stationary grinding equipment to shape, smooth, and finish metal or other materials according to specifications. This role ensures all parts meet required quality standards, dimensions, and surface-finish requirements while strictly following safety procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate grinding equipment including bench, surface, angle, and cylindrical grinders
- Remove excess material and finish parts per specifications
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy
- Inspect finished products for defects, damage, or inconsistencies
- Perform deburring, smoothing, and polishing as required
- Maintain grinding equipment and perform basic routine maintenance
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free
- Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet deadlines
Schedule
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation
- Pay: $20.00 per hour
