Branch Office Technician
Job Description and Duties
This position is located in the city of Yreka .
The Branch Office Technician communicates regularly with VR staff, provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, ensures the timely completion of assignments, and interacts with consumers and coworkers in a professional manner with integrity and respect. The Branch Office Technician will attempt to resolve concerns at the lowest possible level and will offer other dispute resolution options before elevating to the next level, if needed.
The hiring manager will be reviewing the applications every 2 weeks, starting 4/20/26. This is a 12 month limited term position that may be extended and/or may become permanent pending budget approval.You will find additional information about the job in the .
Working Conditions
The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Special Requirements
- The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.

A cover letter is required. Typing Certificate: A copy of your typing certificate is required when applying for Office Technician (Typing) positions. State departments will honor typing certificates issued within the last four years, and certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute). - Knowledge of DOR resources and processes, RAM, and federal and state Code of Regulations;
- High level of organizational skills and office equipment and processes proficiency;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Knowledge of department's mission and goals;
