Quality Engineer II
You will join our client as a Quality Engineer II , helping to reduce defects, accelerate root-cause identification, and lower the cost of poor quality.
You’ll work on bus transit technologies—passenger doors, wheelchair lifts and ramps, e-Bus charging systems, and driver protection barriers—across subsystems and components. You’ll partner with specialists from systems administrators, engineers, technicians, and infrastructure to think clearly, act decisively, and deliver measurable improvements. If you enjoy turning problems into practical solutions and influencing change, this is your opportunity to make an impact that matters.
You’ll collaborate hands-on with manufacturing, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and supply chain, to strengthen processes and resolve issues. You’ll support production on the shop floor, partner with engineering on new product launches, and work with service teams to address customer concerns. You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, accountability, and helping others succeed while driving measurable improvements.

- Conduct process audits and Gemba walks to identify issues early; approve reworks and support MRB/NCMR activities for timely disposition.
- Lead structured problem solving using 8D and DMAIC; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate PFMEA sessions and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and transit standards.
- Track APQP/PPAP deliverables for new product launches and validate process readiness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Use ERP, MES, and QMS platforms to manage data, prepare quality reports, COPQ trends, and highlight systemic issues.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, 5+ years in quality engineering in manufacturing, and at least 2 years in customer-facing roles. You should have expertise in PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, and Lean/Six Sigma.
