Development Associate

We're looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Development Associate to join our team and help drive our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role is critical in supporting revenue generation across multiple campaigns, coordinating donor events, managing Gifts-In-Kind (GIK), and enhancing our visibility through social media and communication strategies.

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and mission-driven—ready to play a vital part in shaping donor relationships and community partnerships while strengthening internal operations and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

• Support individual donor strategies, annual campaigns, giving circles, and special fundraising projects.
• Coordinate, lead, and support signature campaigns like The Annual Gala, Families Helping Families, Backpack Project, and other events throughout the fundraising cycle.
• Lead and assist with volunteer engagement related to development efforts.
• Help manage email fundraising and online giving initiatives.

Gifts-In-Kind & Data Management

• Build and maintain a comprehensive Gifts-In-Kind program and contact database.
• Oversee all donation processing, acknowledgment letters, receipting, and pledge management.
• Use CRM tools (e.g., Bloomerang) to track gifts, run reports, and manage communications.

Event & Campaign Support

• Help plan, coordinate, and support both internal and external fundraising events.
• Provide pre- and post-event support and assist in volunteer project management.
• Support the development of peer-to-peer fundraising and social media outreach campaigns.

Communications & Visibility

• Create and execute social media content and campaigns to increase engagement.
• Assist in distributing e-newsletters, online appeals, and communication blasts.
• Maintain and update website content related to events, leadership, programs, and job postings.

Goals & Performance Benchmarks

• Raise a minimum of $100,000 annually through events, peer-to-peer fundraising, and email campaigns.
• Build and maintain a strong GIK contact bank and structured volunteer program with monthly analytics.
• Help solicit donations of $100-$25,000 from individual donors, corporations, and foundation aligned with our mission.
• Support broader development goals, including stewardship and event success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, marketing, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience (nonprofit fundraising preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, CRM databases (Bloomerang is a plus), and social media platforms.
• Skilled in content creation and event planning.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
