Guest Relations Supervisor

POST RANCH INN, the world renowned boutique hotel in Big Sur, seeks a Guest Relations Supervisor to join our team!

JOB OBJECTIVE: As a member of the Post Ranch Inn, the Guest Relations Supervisor will work directly with the Guest Relations Manager to supervise shift employees covering Front Desk, Concierge, PBX, Guest Services, and Night Audit departments. This role is responsible for providing continuous training while applying a lead-by-example approach with the goal of ensuring that Post Ranch exceeds expectations of each guest during each stay, in an effort to ensure 100% guest satisfaction and desire to return.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintain an unbiased, proactive, and positive attitude while dealing with guests and staff

• Greet guests and staff with a friendly and sincere welcome; respond promptly with accurate and creative suggestions to meet their needs

• Must be familiar with all physical aspects of the guest rooms and facilities alike, as well as the operations of the room and hotel amenities
  Maintain a safe working environment and report any safety irregularities if unable to correct immediately

• Must possess a thorough understanding of the Property Management System (Maestro) and all other pertinent systems such the Sierra Mar’s reservations system

• Monitor departures on a daily basis, resolve discrepancies as needed, and communicate with all necessary departments to ensure guest room inventory

• Make sure bellmen and transportation drivers are working in conjunction with the reception staff and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction

• Display a commitment to Post Ranch Inn’s ethos and philosophies, including a desire to operate in an environmentally responsible manner and to foster a positive working environment in which employees thrive and grow

• Responsible for all other duties assigned by Guest Relations Manager

ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS: 

• Must be a naturally enthusiastic, centered, and organized person to manage the diverse multitasking responsibilities for this position

• Must possess excellent communication skills with a pleasant personality and ability to make eye contact

• Must be able to maintain a calm and direct approach during guest resolutions

• Must have flexibility with schedule based on business and staffing needs including weekends and holidays

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One year related experience and/or training in hospitality; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• College degree and/or certification highly preferred.
• Occasional vehicle usage will be required, must be able to to operate and have a clean driving record under insurance guidelines

Pay range for the Guest Relations Supervisor position is $27.00-$30.00
