Information Technology Specialist I
Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Education Research and Evaluation Administrator of the Data, Access, and Strategy Office (DASO) in the Analysis, Measurement, and Accountability Reporting Division (AMARD), the Information Technology Specialist I manages the business and technical requirements for the department’s public reporting system DataQuest (DQ). The incumbent will be a core team member of the DataQuest Modernization Project (DQMP) workgroup and serve as the technology liaison between AMARD and the other core team members of the DQMP workgroup from the Technology Services Division (TSD) and program offices focused on functionality of DQ, timeliness of report releases, data suppression, data governance, and documentation. The incumbent will stay abreast of best practices and principles in data management, data warehousing, data governance, and project management strategies.

HYBRID
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office components, programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R, and data visualization software including PowerBI
•Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and within workgroups
•Ability to work collegially in teams and in a shared decision-making capacity
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets in a technical capacity
