OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing a balanced yoga, mat Pilates or sound bath practice for participants of all levels and abilities, providing progressions and regressions when necessary, and educating patrons on appropriate breathing principles and safe transitioning techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
• Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
• To know all the safety and fire procedures.
• To work in a safe manner and create a safe environment for users of the wellness studio.
• At all times to be flexible, courteous, resourceful, and cheerful. To create an environment that is fun and professional.
• To report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform.
• To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene as per the hotels grooming standards.
• To ensure the Forbes and Rosewood Asaya Spa standards at Sand Hill is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness and comply with health, hygiene and safety regulations.
• To check and maintain the Spa ambiance set-up at all times in accordance with the Forbes standards.
• To greet guests in accordance with the Forbes and Rosewood Asaya Spa standards.
• Provide advice, coaching as and when required by guests. Observe users technical ability an ensure correction are made in the interest of the users health & safety.
• Update and oversee the exercise record system and attendance records.
• Maintain knowledge of general fitness, wellness, anatomy, kinesiology and physiology as it relates to human movement and muscular conditioning.
• Ensure the Movement studio is kept to highest standard of cleanliness and ensure that it is tidy at all times.
• To collect all dirty towels and restock.
• Ensure that all members and visitors receive the Forbes and Rosewood Asaya Spa standards for customer experience.
• Assist all other staff at times of need.
• To attend all departmental and general staff meetings.
• To carry out opening and closing duties as required.
• To adhere to health and safety and emergency procedures in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
• To handle cleaning materials in accordance with the departments safety rules, and use in accordance with manufactures instructions.
• Rosewood Asaya Spa relies upon the flexibility of its staff to ensure the continuity of the high standards. As such, this is only intended to be a guide to the most regularly performed duties; it does not form part of your contract of employment and is subject to amendment and change as may be considered necessary from time to time.
• All other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience: 2 years teaching experience with high end clientele.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Current Yoga or Mat Pilates certification, CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
• General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
• Language: Required to speak, read, and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
• Licenses & Certifications: Comply with the County and State regulations.

Pay

The pay scale for this position is between $71.61 and $79.57/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.

Decisions regarding individual rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience and/or Fine Dining Restaurant Experience.
