Experienced Machine Shop Manager

JBA Speed Shop has a custom engine building machine shop that services all our 6-800 annual car deliveries, whenever a high-performance engine is needed or must be repaired. Our machine shop opened in 1990 with the purchase of Hamilton Engine Balancing out of San Antonio, Texas. His entire operation, equipment and staff were relocated to San Diego and since then we have built 50-75 engines a year for 35 years including Pontiac, Ford, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Buick, Mercury, Lincoln and all GM as well. We build production-based engines, but all are balanced and blueprinted. We build high-performance engines with carburetion and EFI, wet-sump and dry-sump, ranging from 1 horsepower to 2.5 HP per CID including boosted and NOS engines. We specialize in domestic muscle car high performance engines and late model Ford modulars and LS engines. As a full-service machine shop, we design, balance, blueprint, machine, assemble and dyno cell test and break-in our engines. For specific applications from racing to daily street driving our engines are offered for cars with all fuel types including regular, premium, race fuels and E85 for use with full accessories such as air conditioning, vacuum power assist brakes, automatic or stick shift transmissions with full exhaust or open race car exhaust as well as long distance or just street local driving. With the closing of so many local machine shops, the JBA team of machinists and builders have expanded our volume over the past several years. JBA is currently searching for an experienced leader that has great comfort with engine dynamics and has a background as an engine hard part, high-performance building and administrating. This new hired position will both manage and lead over time the process planning and cost accounting of every tech and every engine built but will as well participate in marketing, pricing and selling JBA engines and participate in procurement and inventory control as an overall department management requires.
