PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37203 – Tennessee healthcare jobs
• Unit Setting: 30-bed Progressive Care Unit (22 Acute Care beds, 8 Neuro Stepdown beds)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract RN job)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Shifts: Required as scheduled
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640-$1680

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Acute Care, Stepdown, or PCU nursing jobs
• BLS certification (required for Acute Care)
• ACLS certification (required for Neuro Stepdown)
• Strong clinical skills in time management and critical thinking
• Experience with Meditech electronic health records preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in Acute Care and Neuro Stepdown settings
• Manage patient ratios: 6:1 (Acute Care), 4:1 (Neuro Stepdown)
• Operate and monitor clinical equipment: vital sign monitors, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, Vapotherm, Bipap, and titrating cardiac drips
• Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
• Participate in bedside shift reports, daily huddles, and build strong patient relationships
• Float to other hospital units as needed after orientation
• Comply with unit policies and dress code (black, blue, grey scrubs; any color on Fridays)
