Lobby Ambassador

Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) is the operational core of Stanford University's physical campus. Moving to new building, the LBRE department is looking for a Lobby Ambassador to greet and direct visitors to their destination, answer telephone and perform general clerical and customer service work in support of the department.
CORE DUTIES*:
- Greet, sign in and route visitors to appropriate individuals.
- Answer phones and serve as a resource on unit procedures and general inquiries.
- Maintain employee and department directories.
- Ensure adherence to security by following procedures; monitor logbook; issue visitor badges.
- Maintain safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Schedule conference rooms and/or permits as appropriate.
- Sort and distribute mail. Receive and sign for delivery of packages.
- Maintain the general filing system.
- Monitor the use of supplies and equipment.
- May be responsible for petty cash.
- May serve as the point of contact for general maintenance, health and safety, and other facility concerns within the unit(s).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
- Strong telephone skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism, maturity and tact.
- Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently sitting.
- Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

The expected pay range for this position is $22.12 to $25.48 per hour.
