This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Abstract Processing Unit is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a positive attitude and good work ethic. Under the direction of a Manager I, DMV, MVR incumbents are responsible for reviewing, interpreting and updating California abstracts, out-of-state abstracts, accidents, deceased notices, stipulated vehicle release agreements, court convictions and basic corrective updates; identifying and matching records to the DMV database by using the Automated Name Index system; assisting courts by answering phone calls and providing information; making recommendations for updating records according to internal policy and procedures; referring courts to informational memos, California Vehicle Codes, new laws and reporting criteria; responding to inquiries by telephone and/or written correspondence; informing court personnel of recent developments and/or errors on customer records; assisting with incoming mail for the unit; and performing other duties as required

The position(s) being advertised may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resources Branch. Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire. The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Salaries are non-negotiable and are subject to the California Department of Human Resources salary rules. Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.
