Payroll Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator for a temp-to-hire opportunity near Glendale, CA. This role supports payroll operations for a construction environment, including residential, commercial, and office projects. The Payroll Coordinator will help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining organized payroll records and supporting compliance with applicable payroll regulations.

This is a strong opportunity for a payroll professional with 3 to 5 years of experience who enjoys working with timekeeping data, payroll calculations, employee inquiries, and cross-functional coordination. Key Responsibilities

- Collect, review, and process employee timekeeping data for payroll accuracy.
- Assist with payroll calculations, including regular wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, employee information, and payroll-related documentation.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies while responding professionally to employee inquiries.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams on payroll updates, reporting, and related matters.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $28 to $30 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.

- 3 to 5 years of payroll experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, timekeeping review, wages, overtime, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality when handling employee information.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees, HR, finance, and internal stakeholders.
- Organized, dependable, and able to meet payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Payroll experience within the construction industry.
- Experience supporting payroll for hourly, field-based, or multi-location employees.
- Familiarity with payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and HRIS tools.
- Knowledge of California payroll requirements.
