General Manager
Louma is brand-new bakery in West LA with a mission: blending artisanal baking with social impact. Equipped with top-notch equipment, we’re creating a space where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together - and we’re looking for a passionate and ambitious manager to join our launch team.
In our kitchen, we craft breads (sourdough, baguettes, rye), classic pastries (Danish and French-style), and seasonal to-go offerings. Overview:
LOUMA Bakery is seeking an experienced and motivated Bakery Manager to lead daily operations, support team development, and drive business growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about artisanal baked goods, organic ingredients, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all daily bakery operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and high-quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize workflow and productivity.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage bakers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house employees.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
- Support staff development through coaching and performance feedback.
Quality Control
- Ensure all baked goods and culinary offerings meet Louma Bakery’s quality, presentation, and freshness standards.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations.
Inventory & Supplier Management
- Monitor inventory levels, minimize waste, and ensure optimal product freshness.
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain reliable sourcing of high-quality ingredients.
Customer Experience
- Lead initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Address customer feedback and concerns in a professional, customer-focused manner.
Financial Management
- Monitor sales, expenses, and profitability.
- Implement cost-control measures while maintaining product quality.
Marketing & Promotion
- Support and execute marketing initiatives to drive sales and brand awareness.
- Collaborate on promotions, seasonal products, and special events.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of management experience in a bakery or food service environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of bakery operations, food trends, and customer service best practices.
- Basic understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
