Business Development Manager
Job Title: Business Development Manager – Polymers (Remote)
Location: Remote – Open to candidates across the U.S.
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 base + commission
Industry: Plastics, Polymers, ABS Resin
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly driven, technically knowledgeable Business Development Manager to lead new client acquisition and strategic account development within the polymers/plastics industry . This is a remote position with the flexibility to be based anywhere in the U.S. (Preference for candidates located in Orange County, CA – travel for key meetings required.)
You’ll be selling into a wide range of industries—from toys to cosmetics to automotive—wherever engineered plastics are in demand. Longer sales cycles, technical products, and high-impact deals are standard.
The ideal candidate is resilient, detail-oriented, independent , and has strong industry relationships and experience in ABS resins . This is a hands-on role for a sales leader who thrives in complex environments and doesn’t wait to be told what to do.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business acquisition in targeted markets, with an emphasis on ABS and specialty polymers
- Build and manage a pipeline through proactive outreach, industry networking, and direct engagement
- Sell into various industries including manufacturing, consumer goods, industrial, cosmetic packaging, and more
- Engage key stakeholders across technical, operational, and executive teams
- Collaborate with internal technical experts to deliver customized solutions
- Own the full sales cycle from first contact to close
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
- Maintain CRM documentation and reporting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development
- Experience selling ABS resins or technical polymers is required
- Strong network of contacts in the plastics industry
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Independent, organized, and persistent with a hunter mentality
- Able to manage complex, longer sales cycles with multiple decision-makers
- Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Attributes:
- Background in plastics, polymers, chemical or industrial sales
- Experience with global account management (U.S. and Europe)
- High emotional intelligence and strong follow-up discipline
- Experience working in a small, fast-paced team
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000
- Performance-based commission
- Travel & business expenses covered
