Correctional Case Records Supervisor (CCRS)
Job Description and Duties
Incumbents perform more difficult legal and policy interpretations related to processing, maintenance, and control of incarcerate person’s records; supervise work of subordinate Correctional Case Records Analysts and supervising clerical staff; provide training to local staff on incarcerate person’s record-related matters; acts as liaison with departmental units and County, State, and Federal agencies and with courts on more complex matters; may have responsibility for a specialized records function, or assist a higher level administrator who directs a variety of complex records units.
All other duties as required.Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s). Individuals must specify on their application that they are applying for a Training and Development assignment.

PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027.

KVSP is a Level IV facility consisting of four semi-autonomous 180 designed facilities and two stand-alone Administrative Segregation Units, all surrounded by a Lethal Electrified Perimeter Fence.
This is a Correctional Institution open 24 hours/7 days a week, all positions will be office centered.
This is a Correctional facility; you will come in contact with incarcerated persons.
There is also a Level I Minimum Support Facility. It is on 600 acres. KVSP received Level I’s in June 2005 and Level IV’s in July 2005.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
The incumbent should have the knowledge to determinate and indeterminate sentence and parole laws; the classification process and purposes, activities, regulations, and functions of the California Department of Corrections as its operations relate to the California Department of Corrections; correctional administration; documents, forms, and processes used in the establishment, maintenance, control, and disposition of individual incarcerated person criminal case records; training methods, and planning and conducting in-service training programs; information disclosure statutes; California Department of Corrections' automated record-keeping systems.
The incumbent should be able to define, interpret, and take action on legal documents and court orders; analyze incarcerated person records and recognize and correct discrepancies and irregularities; prepare accurate and concise reports; make arithmetical computations; prioritize workload and meet deadlines; read and write English at a level required for successful job performance; make sound decisions and recommendations in regard to the record-keeping function; provide criminal identification services necessary to the administration of the Department of Corrections; disseminate information to administrative, legislative, and judicial agencies, attorneys, and the general public; learn, understand, retain, and recall a broad range of highly technical data and apply it to individual cases; follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively with other staff, incarcerated person, and informational sources; operate a personal computer to access, enter, and retrieve information; progressively perform more difficult and analytical tasks in the correctional case record-keeping process.
