Job Description and Duties

SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL)– CAPITAL DISTRICT / OLD SACRAMENTO SECTOR / CALIFORNIA STATE CAPITOL MUSEUM

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. The reporting location for this position will be in the California State Capitol Museum, 1315 10th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. This position will work u nder the direction of the Museum Curator III.

The Senior Park Aide (Seasonal) works to support public educational programs and perform routine housekeeping at the California State Capitol Museum and Leland Stanford Mansion. This position reports to the California State Capitol Museum but will report to other Capital District Park Units and work locations as needed, including the Leland Stanford Mansion and the West Sacramento Exhibits Shop. The work week for this position is Monday through Friday, but occasional weekend or evening assignments may be scheduled. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions

Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and sit/stand for long periods of time.

Walk distances on uneven surfaces.
