Administrative Assistant - Litigation - Orange County

Hawkins Parnell is seeking an Administrative Assistant to the general liability litigation group in its Orange County, CA office. The successful candidate must have strong academic credentials and a willingness to learn from a dedicated and successful national litigation team.

HPY represents a variety of clients from global corporations to small local businesses and individual clients in high-risk litigation and business disputes across the country and U.S. Territories. The successful candidate will be a part of a national team of 300 lawyers and professional staff spread across nine offices located in Atlanta, Buffalo, Charleston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Napa, New York, Orange County, Raleigh, St. Louis, San Diego, San Francisco and West Virginia.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Preparing documents such as pleading and discovery shells, client/carrier letters and more
• Preparation and organization of a variety of documents, forms, charts, letters, etc.
• Creating and organizing electronic files within document and matter management systems
• Assisting in opening and closing client matters
• Maintaining matter file organization, case captions, and service lists
• Processing incoming and outgoing electronic service ensuring accurate and efficient organization of subject documents
• Assisting in the creation of case initiation and file transfer memoranda

What You Need To Bring:

• Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Desire to learn the ins and outs of a busy civil litigation group spanning several unique practice areas
• MS Office proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and ancillary apps such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and similar
• Familiarity with a professional office environment
