Senior Software Engineer- ML Data Infra

The ML Data Infra team, part of the Waymo ML Platform team, builds tools & infrastructure that empower all ML dataset generation at Waymo. These systems include solutions for data selection, data extraction, token generation, model inference, feature store, ML data storage, and distillation. This team also partners closely with the rest of the ML Platform team that provides an end-to-end solution for anyone at Waymo to do ML at scale. We are looking for a software engineer to join our team to implement lineage tracking & data compliance across our data infra stack.

In this hybrid role you will report to a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Technical Lead Manager.

You will:

• Implement new features in Waymo's ML data infra, such as data compliance


• Design & build a lineage tracking system across Waymo's ML data infra


• Support the continuing scaling of Waymo's ML data in support of the foundation model development


• Collaborate with ML modeling teams in understanding their data needs & design infra solutions that solve their problems

You have:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field


• 2+ years of professional experience in the field of software engineering


• Proficiency in C++


• Experience in designing distributed systems processing data at scale


• Passionate about building world-class ML infrastructure


• Strong communication skills

We prefer:

• Experience with designing & scaling ML data infra


• Experience with implementing data compliance & data governance solutions

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. $204,000—$259,000 USD
