Devops engineer

Job Description

One of the world's largest healthcare and biotech companies is looking to add a DevOps Engineer to join their team and drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. This role involves working across backend, web, APIs, and serverless deployments using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and GitLab CI. This person will automate workflows, integrate security and quality checks, and manage container orchestration with Kubernetes on AWS and on-prem. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt, scripting in Python or Bash, and administering Linux systems. They'll also be responsible for monitoring system performance, managing artifact repositories, and enforcing engineering best practices across teams.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience

• Expertise in AWS services (EC2, SSM, VPC, S3, ALB, EKS, API Gateway, SNS, SES, SQS, KMS) and on-prem

• Strong Linux system administration skills

• Proficient in Python or Bash scripting

• Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for IaC

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipeline security integration

• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)

• Solid understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), including scaling and ingress configuration

• Knowledge of artifact repositories like Harbor or JFrog Artifactory

• Familiarity with SonarQube, container scanning, and security automation

• Experience with security tools such as Dome9, Cloudflare, and HashiCorp Vault

• Ability to create custom dashboards for performance monitoring

• Experience defining branching strategies and pull request workflows
