Job Description Summary

Overall management of construction projects to ensure successful completion.

Compensation Range

$110,500.00 - $165,700.00 annually.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform all responsibilities of Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers (refer to respective descriptions).
  • Estimate budgets and establish contract prices (GMP / Lump Sum).
  • Negotiate subcontract and material purchase costs.
  • Implement job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
  • Keep projects on schedule.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to develop and implement safety plans.
  • Maintain accurate reporting to management.
  • Manage, train, and supervise project teams per company policies.
  • Organize management and subcontractor meetings.
  • Review contract conditions for compliance.
  • Document significant project events such as accidents, delays, and change orders.
  • Oversee preconstruction services and activities.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract bid packages.
  • Assist in business development and participate in interviews.
  • Maintain quality control and project integrity.
  • Support estimating staff with bid items.
  • Avoid or mitigate claims and conflicts.
  • Complete project close-out procedures.
  • Conduct warranty follow-ups (1-year warranty walks).
  • Ensure project completion with full or enhanced fee.
  • Perform other assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Skills and Experience:

  • Project experience within the K-14 Education market is required.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory skills.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Drafting and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
  • Understanding of project management systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating).
