Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Senior Engineer, Water Resources, incumbent is responsible for performing engineering analyses related to SWP project facilities and the distribution of costs among SWP contractors with the intent to resolve disputes from water contractors. Timely and effectively prepare technical engineering studies and develop recommendations to support any dispute items. Must be able to work independently and cooperatively with others, and exercise good judgment.

Special Requirements

SWPAO has a 50% in-office requirement. We are in office on Tuesday and Wednesday with a couple of floating in-office days.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Be analytically oriented with an eye for detail. Be able to communicate analytical results both orally and in writing effectively to DWR staff and SWP Contractors. Knowledge of the Department's enterprise-wide SAP system. Broad knowledge of spreadsheets and databases. Ability to investigate thoroughly and independently complex billing processes. Demonstrated ability to ensure work is complete, accurate and completion dates are met. Experience in developing and maintaining positive working relationships and the ability to deal effectively with others in a conflict situation.
