Builder - Data Scientist

BUILDER – DATA SCIENTIST

LOCATION: On-site, SF / Santa Clara (minimum of 2 days in Santa Clara until SF office opens in Q3, then may need to travel 1 day per week to Santa Clara or on as needed basis)

WHO YOU ARE:

• Experienced Builder: You’re not just a modeler–you’re a builder. You’ve built and shipped end-to-end solutions in fast-moving startups, from data pipelines to productionized ML models.

• Bias Towards Action: You thrive in zero-to-one environments, move quickly with incomplete information, and balance speed with technical rigor.

• Strategic Executor: You dive deep into data, code, and models—but can zoom out to shape product direction and drive GTM outcomes.

• Cross-Functional Partner: You work fluidly with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams, translating messy problems into data-driven decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Own Core Initiatives: Lead high-impact initiatives end-to-end across the business–including account and lead scoring models, forecasting, churn prediction, and product analytics.

  • Lead causal inference analyses to understand and influence key levers of business growth with clear understanding of incremental impact

  • Design, implement, and analyze experiments and quasi-experiments to measure the impact of new initiatives in product and marketing

  • Develop predictive models and methodologies to uncover growth opportunities

• Stand Up the Function : Define best practices for modeling, monitoring, governance, and experimentation. Build foundational infrastructure that scales as we grow the team and surface area.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with GTM, Product, and Engineering to understand trends and make data-driven decisions, recommendations and forecasts.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 4+ years of data science experience, preferably within B2B SaaS or AI-native platforms

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

• Expertise with Python / R and SQL

• Proficiency in experimentation, causal inference, and predictive modeling

• Experience with modern data stack tools (Fivetran, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Census, or equivalents) and visualization tools

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly communicate findings and strategic recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Experience navigating dynamic startup environments, managing multiple priorities, and driving measurable outcomes
