Corporate Accounting Manager – Government Segment

Carlsbad, CA – Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)
Salary:
$110K – $130K
Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in satellite communications and technology solutions, is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join their Government Segment team in Carlsbad, CA. This hybrid role offers a mix of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, financial planning, and government regulations (CAS, FAR, DFARS).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of journal entries for month-end close related to indirect cost rates.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to business and program leadership.
- Optimize cost allocation and financial processes through SAP S/4HANA implementation.
- Monitor cost pools to ensure accurate alignment and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support audits by maintaining well-documented processes for cost rate development.
- Collaborate with cost and functional owners to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 4 years of experience in operating cost analytics, forecasting, budgeting, or cost accounting.
- Strong knowledge of government accounting regulations (CAS, FAR, DFARS).
- Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in cost accounting and financial modules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience in managing projects and programs effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting certification.
- Prior government audit experience.
- Familiarity with major ERP systems (Ledger, Workday, Oracle).
