About this Role:

The Justice Involved Medi-Cal Administrative Activities Unit (JI MAA) facilitates claiming of Federal Financial Participation for specific administrative activities and Medi-Cal services in compliance with Federal and State laws, regulations, and policies for the JI MAA program consisting of State prisons, county jails, and youth correctional facilities.

Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) provides analytical support for the administration of the JI MAA unit. The SSA has responsibility for analytical activities, including the processing of Medi-Cal Administrative claims, in accordance with federal policy and statute, to obtain federal reimbursement for services associated with Medi-Cal Administrative Activities. The SSA is responsible for providing analysis updates, program recommendations, developments, and potential areas of concern to managers, as well as state and federal stakeholders. This position requires strong written and verbal communication, detailed organization and planning, and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Statement of Qualifications Requirement Section:

Telework Information

This position is currently eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in person a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required.

Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
