Work Schedule: Days/nights vary, including weekends

Shifts Available:

7AM - 3:30PM

Summary of duties:

• Furniture set up. Assemble, modify, and break down system furniture, lab benches, and chairs.
• Conference room and cafeteria set up/ break downs for meetings. Empty rooms of tables, set up chairs according to work order instructions for classroom style, theater style, etc.
• Move boxes, desks, file cabinets, etc. as directed
• Pick up items throughout the facility that have been identified as surplus and/or scrap. Deliver to Dumpster. Notify supervisor when Dumpster is full.
• Light Painting. Paint offices and hallways as directed.
• Make deliveries from shipping/receiving department to points throughout the facility.
• Perform general job site labor, including clean up within construction areas.
• Shift in house stock supplies as items are consumed to consolidate stock on pallets. Perform materials handling functions using file movers, desk movers, dollies, pallet jacks, slides, straps, etc.
• Perform light grounds maintenance. No cutting/mowing/trimming. Set out cones on identified hazards or to block off a work area. Do light litter pickup as required.
• Perform light carpentry such as hanging pictures, nameplates, promotional signs/graphics, corkboards, & whiteboards; flooring repairs (carpet tile, VCT, concrete patching, cove base installation, transition strip installation); ceiling tile replacement

Requirements for our Handyperson position:

• Two (2) or more years' building maintenance experience
• Overall diagnostic experience required
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required ).
