HR Assistant
Position Summary
This role supports the Human Resources department by maintaining employee records, organizing documentation, and assisting with reporting tasks. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within the HR field.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR Manager on confidential personnel matters and special assignments.
- Act as the primary contact for applicant and new hire inquiries.
- Organize and maintain employee records, including scanning and filing documents.
- Manage the training calendar and ensure schedules are up to date.
- Prepare onboarding materials such as applications, handbooks, and timecards.
- Assist in coordinating orientation sessions and employee training programs.
- Assemble and review Department of Transportation (DOT) files for commercial drivers.
- Enter new hire information into internal systems and databases.
- Conduct periodic audits of personnel files to ensure compliance and completeness.
- Draft and update job descriptions based on role responsibilities.
Additional Duties
- Provide general administrative support to leadership as needed.
- Contribute to team initiatives and help achieve departmental objectives.
- Demonstrate leadership through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include supervisory duties.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%) for off-site training sessions.
