Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active California Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• No new graduates. Minimum clinical experience required; must demonstrate competency in outpatient orthopedic evaluations and treatment planning.
• Experience with documentation, goal writing, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Experience supervising or providing direction for discipline-specific therapy services and participating in student clinical education.
• Ability to follow physician orders, insurance authorization requirements, and clinic policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior outpatient clinic experience with functional treatment program design for community reintegration.
• Familiarity with performance improvement initiatives and competency-based clinical programs.
• Professional development involvement and evidence of continuing education in physical therapy.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 5x8 (five 8-hour shifts per week).
• 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work within clinic guidelines for attendance, appearance, and punctuality.
• May be required to participate in student supervision and professional development activities as assigned.

Impacting Patient Care

Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Provide supervision and direction of discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients. Design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities. Complete comprehensive documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and adhere to state practice acts and regulatory requirements. Maintain professional licensure and meet state-mandated continuing education requirements. Promote patient and employee safety and adhere to safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and workplace safety standards.
