Senior Buyer (Hercules)

Supply Assurance Buyer -

Work Location - Hercules, CA - 100% Onsite work - 8 am to 5 pm - Monday to Friday

Duration - 3 months - extendable

Job Description -

This Supply Assurance Buyer role places purchase orders for goods and services needed in support of a manufacturing facility and manage supplier relationships to optimize supply chain efficiency.

Purchase of direct materials in support of the manufacturing plan is the primary objective. This activity is primarily driven through the Manufacturing Materials Resource Planning (MRP).

How You'll Make An Impact:

1. Places purchasing orders for goods and services needed in support of manufacturing.
2. Manages supplier relationships to optimize supply chain efficiency.
3. Monitors inventory/stock levels to support production and inventory goals.
4. Issues material purchase orders to support production. Identifies and resolves potential supply problems.
5. Actively manages workflow in SAP system.
6. Resolve invoice discrepancies to minimize overdue invoices and ensure supply availability.
7. Evaluate stocking levels and adjust to meet the needs of the business.
8. Ensures products/services get delivered on time and meet quality standards.
9. Work with scheduling team to process expedites as necessary to support production.
10. Introduce and manage efficiencies through effective purchasing.
11. Participates in supplier audits / business reviews.
12. Complies with commercial certification programs and applicable safety requirements.
13. Maintains files and records related to purchasing activities.
14. Process RTV’s (return to vendor) for Non-Conforming Materials.

What You Bring:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. 1-3 years’ experience in purchasing or production planning fields.
3. Experience expediting and issuing purchase orders.
4. Coursework towards CPM and/or CPIM certification is preferred.
5. Full knowledge and application of the principles and theories of purchasing/materials.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Teams, and Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
7. Experience with SAP preferred
