Location: Monterey, CA (Relocation Required)
Pay: $100,000–$150,000/year + Significant Overtime Potential (paid hourly for 12-hour shifts)
Shift: Monday–Saturday, 12-hour shifts (primarily mornings, occasional split shifts)
About the Role
Join the largest environmental services company in the world and lead critical safety initiatives that protect people and the planet! We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with safety regulations and oversee emergency response efforts at environmental and remediation sites. This role is based in Moss Landing, CA , and relocation is required (assistance may be available).
Responsibilities
- Compliance & Safety Leadership:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and other applicable regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Site Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Emergency Response:
- Lead emergency response efforts for chemical spills, fires, and medical emergencies.
- Serve as Incident Commander or Safety Officer during emergency events.
- Training & Reporting:
- Deliver HAZWOPER and emergency response training to site personnel.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records and report performance metrics.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in health and safety within environmental and/or remediation settings.
- Proficiency with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 regulations.
- Experience in construction EHS management.
- Ability to develop and implement HASP and ERP plans.
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA regulations.
- Preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience in nuclear power and electrical environments.
- Knowledge of ICS, NIMS, QA/QC, HAZWOPER, VPP, and ISMS.

Work Environment
The initial assignment is at an electrical battery plant in Half Moon Bay, with future opportunities at diverse sites including nuclear power facilities. Expect a dynamic work environment with travel flexibility and challenging projects across the West Coast.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $1500000.00/yr.
This is direct hire with full benefits. VRBO offered. Daily high per diem. Medical dental and vision. 1 year project then projects from there. Long term opportunity.
