Mission Recruiting is partnering with a well-established insurance defense practice in Irvine that is adding a Legal Secretary to its litigation team. This role supports busy attorneys who value organization, precision, and a proactive approach to keeping cases moving forward. Under the guidance of experienced attorneys, this position plays a central role in day-to-day litigation support.

What You Will Be Doing

• Preparing and processing litigation documents such as answers, motions, statutory settlement offers, and release agreements
• Handling filing and service in California superior, federal, and appellate courts
• Managing calendars, deadlines, and scheduling to keep matters on track
• Organizing and maintaining electronic and physical case files
• Drafting correspondence, memos, and legal documents
• Assisting with case intake and file opening
• Coordinating mail, deliveries, and court correspondence
• Communicating professionally with clients, insurance carriers, witnesses, and court personnel
• Supporting trial preparation, including motions in limine, trial documents, and exhibit binders
• Assisting attorneys with gathering and organizing information related to active caseloads

What Sets You Up for Success

• Experience supporting attorneys in a fast-paced civil litigation environment
• Confidence managing deadlines and helping attorneys meet court requirements
• Working knowledge of California filing and service rules
• Familiarity with discovery, expert designation, depositions, and trial-triggered deadlines
• Comfort handling client and insurance carrier communications by phone and email
• Strong skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• A self-directed mindset and the ability to step in and add value right away

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay range of $31.25 to $40.87
