Director of Community Engagement, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

LOCATION NOTE: This position requires on-site presence at one of the campuses specified below, including local travel when necessary.

This structure requires a fundamentally different relationship with parents—and that relationship is your responsibility.

You will serve as the public-facing leader of your campus, responsible for enrollment growth, trust-building, and community advocacy. You'll facilitate high-impact information sessions, cultivate authentic community relationships, and transform curiosity into committed enrollment. Beyond that, you'll become the central point of contact for families once they're part of Alpha—responding to concerns, strengthening engagement, and developing parents into vocal advocates for the educational model.

This position offers significant trust and autonomy, with meaningful accountability. You'll be stationed at a single campus, primarily on-site, accountable for tangible results—not simply executing a prescribed playbook. What You Will Be Doing

• Managing the complete parent journey—from initial outreach to sustained involvement—for a single campus location
• Delivering persuasive information sessions and individualized conversations that move interested parents to committed enrollment
• Acting as the lead contact for parents—addressing questions, increasing satisfaction, and guaranteeing every family feels acknowledged and supported once enrolled
• Establishing credibility and local presence through consistent on-site engagement, community partnerships, and targeted outreach efforts
• Mobilizing parent advocates to drive referrals and expand community reach

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Using formulaic sales approaches or impersonal communication methods
• Passing off relationship ownership to other staff or operating from behind the scenes
• Allowing vocal parent coalitions to redefine or compromise Alpha's educational principles
• Working remotely or from an office—this role requires active involvement in the parent and community experience

Director Of Community Engagement Key Responsibilities

Lead enrollment and family retention efforts at your assigned campus by cultivating high-trust parent relationships across the entire lifecycle—from initial inquiry through sustained engagement and active advocacy.

Basic Requirements

• Currently living within commuting range of one of the following campuses: San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Miami, FL; Charlotte, NC; New York City, NY; Austin, TX; Chantilly, VA; or Dorado, PR.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
• At least 5 years of professional experience working with families in education, community outreach, or enrollment contexts
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated capability to build trust and influence complex decision-making processes
• Strong personal conviction in Alpha's high-expectation, accelerated learning approach

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
