Director of Administrative Services

The Director of Administrative Services is the champion of safety, health, and engagement for employees, the Association's members, guests, and public, and workplace culture, and community building and serves at the pleasure of the General Manager. The Director of Administrative Services is responsible for complete oversight, management, and leadership of the administrative services division which includes Human Resources, Risk Management, and Community Services (design review and community standards and regulations enforcement). Tahoe Donner is looking for an individual committed to continuing to nurture the rich history of the association while also being an agent of change and improvement. Partnering with the General Manager and executive leadership team, the Director of Administrative Services will champion and lead the standards of excellence and company culture while following and ensuring sound policies and procedures, implementing best practices and internal controls, and providing clear and concise communication and guidance. The key focus areas for this position over the coming years are:
- Provide excellent leadership with integrity, management, mentorship, and staff development within the Administrative Services division and across the organization
- Live the principle of collaboration and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders and partners
- Support the 27 business centers and collaborate with mid-level management to develop their business models with an eye on standards of excellence, culture, safe and healthy work practices, and employee development
- Support and collaborate with the capital projects department in refining and further developing long-term financial planning
- Improve and deliver on organizational performance metrics and reporting
- Timely presentation and interpretation of results and trends
- Analysis of planned and contemplated changes to recreation operations, facilities, trends, and business opportunities
- Continue best practices in organizational development, risk management, and community services while addressing any findings and execute the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to ensure strong systems and consistency across the association
COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PROGRAM
The starting salary will be commensurate with the experience, qualifications, and skills of the successful candidate within the salary range.
Annual salary range of $180,500-$245,000 DOE, and eligible for discretionary incentive bonus

IDEAL CANDIDATE
We seek a team-oriented and seasoned candidate to function as the association's primary administrative services executive and resource to the association's management, committees, and board of directors. The association is looking for a dynamic, inspiring leader who can:
- Be the champion of positive workplace culture and change improvement
- Engage, mentor, and lead teams
- Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and communication skills
- Ability to meet the employees and members in the office and in the field including on trail or at the amenities
- Be highly visible and active with the association membership to build trust and consensus
- Plan and communicate, demonstrating best practices in this area and able to teach these principles
- Be innovative and have a life-long learning mindset
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
A combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business administration, recreation management, or a similar field
- A Master's degree in business administration or other field desirable.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in senior-level positions or like positions; including at least four years at senior administrative, management, and supervisory responsibility in human resources, risk management, and community services.
- At least 5 years of mid-level management in resort and/or recreation operations, hospitality, or other service industry experience.
License/Certifications Required
Valid Driver's License
Certified Community Association Manager or similar preferred
Certified Risk Manager or similar preferred
Certified Professional Human Resources or Senior Profession Human Resources or similar preferred
Certified 30-Hour OSHA General Industry or similar preferred
